Ausclimate’s exciting new All-Seasons range

Our NWT All Seasons Range

See us in-person:
5th to 16th of August - Costco Warehouse, North Lakes QLD
13th to 16th of August – Melbourne Home Show (Australia's largest home show!)

Manufacturer NWT, world leaders in research and development and Ausclimate have teamed up again to introduce two exciting new models with the latest advanced technology in dehumidification. Our latest additions, the NWT All-Seasons and NWT Supreme All-Seasons dehumidifiers have been designed to combat moisture problems in Australia’s forever changing climate.

What sets them apart from the others is their unique defrost system which allows them to function more effectively at low indoor temperatures but just as important; they are still a powerhouse at moisture removal in Australia’s warmer wet, humid seasons that we all know - especially in areas like Sydney, the Central Coast and all the way north to Queensland’s tropical climate.

The NWT All-Seasons dehumidifier is rated at a powerful 30 litres per day and has a very easy to use dial humidistat while the NWT Supreme All-Seasons dehumidifier is rated at a whopping 50 litres per day and has an electronic LCD humidistat displaying room temperature and Relative Humidity.

The NWT Supreme All-Seasons model also includes other great features like ‘auto restart’ (which is great if you ever experience a power failure or want to use a timer) and an ‘auto pump out’ water drainage system that comes with 5 Metres of hose.

If you'd like to know more about these exciting new models then just call one of Ausclimate’s expert team members who can answer all your questions.

Oh, and one more very important thing; Ausclimate has launched these two models at fantastic introductory prices!

Both models are available for purchase right now at ausclimate.com.au You can also visit Ausclimate in-person at Costco Warehouse North Lakes (from now until the 16th) or theMelbourne Home Show (from the 13th-16th)

Keeping your pride & joy in mint condition

Drying out the Thunderbird

A lovely couple from the coast of Western Australia & new Ausclimate friends have kindly sent us these photos of their pride & joy with our Ausclimate Dehumidifier in action.

They'd like to remind everyone out there that caring for your prized classic & collectable cars is just so important. Wow, just looking at these great photos show that there’s no doubt that their awesome 57 Thunderbird receives such love & care. Living near the beach is no excuse not to keep your baby dry and protected from damp and musty conditions.

“You just need to talk with the guys at Ausclimate’ to select the right Ausclimate Dehumidifier”.

Take care folks, great to see another fantastic use for our Dehumidifiers. The Thunderbird's a beauty!

NOW is the time to dry out your home!

Cyclones Lam and Marcia Head Onshore

The recent weather has been staggering – it’s just so wet! Following Cyclone Marcia, Cyclone Lam and all of the other recent heavy rains, we sincerely wish all of our Ausclimate friends that have been effected a speedy recovery.

Now that the immediate wild weather has passed, it’s high time for a “big-dry” to beat those musty smells and other potentially dangerous moisture-related issues. These musty smells are the first tell-tale signs that we may have excess dampness, mould growth, dust mites and other unhealthy allergens in our homes.

For this reason, we’ve put together this easy how-to list for this “big-dry” for all of our Ausclimate friends.

BIG-dry time!

It should be no surprise - the way to control these unhealthy conditions is at the source – “the moisture”. Common areas of excess moisture include: kitchens, bathrooms, cupboards, walls, windows & ceilings and of course our bedrooms, where we spend about 8 hours/day - under the bed, behind the bedhead, inside wardrobes and behind our other furnishings.

Here’s a few tips:

Wipe down & dry the damp areas – the longer we leave our homes damp, the more likely we are to get moisture damage such as wood rot, as well as mould and those other airborne allergens.

  • Ventilation is the cheapest option – open up the windows and some doors, turn on the ceiling fans and exhaust fans on dry, warm and sunny days.
  • A Dehumidifier is one of the quickest and most efficient options – just close up the moisture-affected room and let it remove all that unwanted moisture from the whole room.

Your Ausclimate dehumidifier will pull all that unwanted moisture straight from the room and into the dehumidifier’s water tank, or we can use the optional drain hose to run the water straight outside.

Extra tips to get improved dehumidifier results:

Push the Ausclimate dehumidifier into the worst affected room

  • Close the external windows
  • Remove the bed linen from the bed - drape the linen over a chair to also dry out the bed linen
  • Pull out the drawers partially – might as well dry the clothes inside the drawers too
  • Open the wardrobe doors and separate footwear & clothing slightly for improved drying
  • Turn on a fan such as ceiling fan for improved air circulation
  • Turn on the Ausclimate dehumidifier and set the humidistat at the lowest level of 30% (electronic models) or continuous/maximum (manual models).
  • Close the door behind you on the way out.

All rooms take varying times to fully dry – depending on seriousness of the moisture issues, size of room and capacity of your dehumidifier. Imagine pulling out 50litres from a room in just 24hours!

As always, if you’d like any extra help & guidance – please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the experts at Ausclimate. We are here to answer any of your questions, particularly initial deep-down drying times and followup drying times - we want you to get the very best from your dehumidifier.

All the best!

Evaporative Air Conditioners and Dehumidifiers

Evaporative Air Conditioner

Recently I spoke to a customer about the humidity problems they were experiencing with their Evaporative Air Conditioner so it prompted me to write this article about how a dehumidifier can help.

Many homes throughout Australia have Evaporative Air Conditioners. These types of air conditioners are very efficient and are an effective way to keep your home cool during the hot dry days of Summer.

The Evaporative Air Conditioner is quite different to the common refrigerant type models. A large fan draws the hot dry air in to the AC unit which is located on the roof. As it draws air in it passes through wet honeycomb type pads which cools the air. The cool air is then ducted into each room of the house.

However… there’s a downside.

Whenever it rains or even when its overcast the Evaporative Air Conditioner struggles to cool the home because the Relative Humidity can soar to as much as 80 - 90% inside. Therefore the home does not feel as cool as it should and the comfort level has become somewhat diminished. The Evaporative AC is then less effective; in fact it can make the indoor climate conditions worse. Everything in your home can start feeling damp and clammy like your bedding, flooring even the clothes in your wardrobes. In some cases it can lead to mould problems throughout your home.

Solution?

My wife Chris and I spend a lot of time in the NSW city of Wagga Wagga. This lovely city can be very hot and dry during Summer however lately they have experienced thunder storms, rain and high humidity. The Evaporative AC was working overtime until we started running our Ausclimate Dehumidifier. It removed a huge of the moisture/humidity therefore allowing the AC to function much more effectively. At one stage our NWT Large Home Dehumidifier was collecting an amazing 1 litre of water per hour and that was continuously over 2 days. Imagine that much water building up in your home!

If you live in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane in fact anywhere in Australia and you find your Evaporative Air Conditioner is struggling with humidity consider using an NWT Dehumidifier from Ausclimate www.ausclimate.com.au.

We're sure you’ll feel the difference.

Regards,

Allan & Chris

Wet weather camping & your dehumidifier

Camping Trip Dehumidifier

It's that time of the year again & we've already experienced our share of extreme wet weather, but we're determined not to let it take away from our holidays!

Last week my son, Cameron (pictured) got his fill of rain on a QLD camping trip. Lucky for him, upon his return he made great use of his Ausclimate Dehumidifier; drying out both his 4-wheel drive & his camping gear. This important step eliminated the moisture & prevented any potential nasty surprises for next time. He's already excited for his next trip tomorrow!

Make sure to follow suit with your Dehumidifier next time to get the most out of your camping gear and enjoy your next camping trip. Please refer to our previous camping gear post for step-by-step instructions. And as always if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Allan or myself for expert advice and custom solutions for all of your moisture problems. A stormy summer & your dehumidifier

Storm Season

Summer’s here

Wow! What a start to summer.

Heat, rain, storms and humidity; we got the lot! With weather like this it’s time to crank up your dehumidifier. Keep your home dry and you’ll protect your valuables, stop mould and musty odours.

Try running it in your bedroom once a week and feel the difference; no more uncomfortable damp and clammy bedding.

Can’t remember how to get the best out of your dehumidifier? Just check out our FAQs and Operating Tips @ www.ausclimate.com.au/faq.htm

And don’t forget to clean your air filter. Generally, by washing it under a tap once every few months will do the trick. The cleaner the filter, the more efficient your dehumidifier will be.

Cheers,

The Ausclimate team

A callout to all of our Ausclimate boat enthusiasts, make sure to come out and visit us at Booth 53 of the QLD Sanctuary Cove Boat Show where we will be exhibiting our range of NWT Dehumidifiers!

Just like our homes, boats have more than their share of moisture problems. The number one choice for our boat owners is the NWT Compact 12 lire/day Dehumidifier. Cyclone Ita - Baby Charlie

Cyclone Ita - Baby Charlie

As many of you will know, Cyclone Ita recently rocked north QLD as the strongest tropical cyclone to impact the area since Cyclone Yasi three years prior. But despite Ita’s destruction, we at Ausclimate were very happy to hear of a little blessing from some of our latest Ausclimate friends, Kasia and Daniel of Tully, QLD.

Kasia and partner Daniel are from the small town of Tully - approximately 140 kilometers south of Cairns and 210 kilometres north of Townsville and one of the wettest places in Australia. Kasia and Daniel had planned well ahead for the disastrous effects of Cyclone Ita with their Ausclimate Dehumidifier purchase. It came as a surprise however that a little bundle of joy decided to arrive just as the cyclone hit! We were delighted to hear of the safe delivery of baby boy, Charlie and that mother and son are doing well.

Kasia spoke of their thought process through this crazy series of events; " As I was watching the cyclone's progress, I decided we were in the safest place possible - surrounded by midwives and an obstetrician on call in a solid brick building".

We were also happy to hear that in addition to the safe delivery of their baby boy Charlie, their Dehumidifier was also delivered safely despite the wild weather. All the best to Kasia, Daniel & Charlie as well as all those effected by Cyclone Ita. And as always, if you have any home moisture problems of your own, please don't hesitate to get in touch, we're here to help with friendly, expert advice and product details.
