Ausclimate On-Location Update:
Charlestown Square Shopping Centre, Charlestown NSW – (Monday 28/10 – Sunday 3/11)
It feels like summer already and our air conditioners will be working overtime in the coming months. Did you know that in rooms with high humidity, you can use your Dehumidifier in conjunction with your air-con to improve the comfort level of your rooms more effectively?
Air conditioners have to work a lot harder when they are trying to reduce room temperature as well as lowering humidity. By reducing your humidity level with your Ausclimate Dehumidifier, the air conditioner's thermostat can be set higher, therefore running less while still maintaining an ideal comfort level & perhaps most importantly, reducing air-con running costs!
Next time on a hot, steamy day get more out of your air conditioner AND reduce your running costs by trying out this handy tip from Ausclimate.

Charlestown Square Shopping Centre – (Monday 28/10 – Sunday 3/11)
While in Newcastle this week Chris and I have experienced firsthand the extreme hot and windy weather conditions that had fires flaring up all over NSW. I snapped this shot looking across Lake Macquarie towards Dudley and Redhead. The fire had flared up again on Wednesday afternoon after Tuesday's awful conditions.
Ausclimate wish all the residents of Newcastle and all affected areas of NSW to stay safe and be vigilant during these unfortunate and dangerous conditions.

Chris and I look forward to catching up with our old and new customers, answering any questions you may have regarding our Dehumidifiers or any mould or moisture related problems. If you are not sure of the extent of your home moisture problem, please make an appointment and I will gladly pop around to give some free advice.
See you there!
Ausclimate has received so many enquiries about whether our NWT Dehumidifiers could help with health problems caused by mould in their homes. The answer is yes, they can make a huge difference for so many people. In fact many of our satisfied customers are professionals in the health industry.
Too much moisture in your home is a recipe for mould, mildew and musty smells. Ausclimate Dehumidifiers, often described as "room dryers", can extract excessive moisture and dry your home therefore reducing harmful allergens such as mould and dust mites. If you dry out mould you will kill it!
Below is a testimonial from a recently satisfied customer:
"My husband and I live in the NSW coastal town of Coffs Harbour and our house always felt damp which was affecting my health. I have lung problems including asthma so a friend recommended I should buy a dehumidifier from Ausclimate. We purchased an Ausclimate dehumidifier two weeks ago and already my health has improved dramatically. The house now feels dry and my breathing is so much better. The dehumidifier removed an unbelievable three liters of water in the first five hours from our bedroom. I wish I brought one years ago. When my husband rang Allan from Ausclimate, he was very helpful and made it easy for us to purchase over the phone. I would recommend a dehumidifier from Ausclimate to anyone." (Margaret of Coffs Harbour)
Again always happy to help! For more info, please check out the website at www.ausclimate.com.au or feel free to give us a call any time.
Been camping recently or planning your next trip? Make sure to dry out your camping gear with your Dehumidifier before packing it away for your next adventure!
Your Ausclimate Dehumidifier is the most effective way to dry out expensive camping gear, ensuring that there’s no nasty surprises for next time. Without proper moisture extraction of your camping gear after a trip, you could easily open yourself up to moisture damage and mould when rolling out the tents, sleeping bags, air mattresses and even your hiking boots/coats. Common signs include musty smells, the presence of moisture, overall dampness and the growth of unsightly mould and mildew. This not only destroys your expensive camping gear, but also has potential to affect your family’s health if re-used.
Here’s a couple of camping gear drying hints using your Ausclimate Dehumidifier:
- Bring the camping gear inside the garage or even a spare room within the home
- Drape everything over a clothes horse/airer, chairs or anything that will raise them off the floor and allow the air to circulate around them * Close the external windows and doors
- Turn on a ceiling fan or pedestal fan to circulate the air (not essential, but helpful)
- Turn on your Ausclimate NWT Dehumidifier and allow the Dehumidifier to do what it does best – remove the excess moisture from the room, including the excess moisture from all of your camping gear
The capacity of the Dehumidifier will influence the speed of the drying process. As example:
- The NWT Small Home Dehumidifier will dry out the camping gear effectively in a room size up to 20 square metres and remove up to 12 litres of moisture per day during the drying process
- On the other hand the NWT Supreme Home Dehumidifier will dry out the camping gear effectively in a room or garage up to 75 square metres and remove up to 50 litres of moisture per day during the drying process
Get the most out of your camping gear and enjoy your next camping trip!

Joanne & I had a great time meeting many lovely locals at the Noosa Civic Shopping Centre during our Dehumidifier demonstrations from 18 - 22 September 2013.
As usual, Joanne volunteered my inspection services to help customers decide on the best Dehumidifier to solve their home moisture problems. Although we've had a recent dry spell, it was still surprising just how serious some of the problems were.
After setting up and demonstrating the Dehumidifiers, we were definitely glad that we brought along so many of our Supreme Dehumidifiers, such were the moisture problems in these homes. We also received more great feedback that they were still pulling large amounts of water. No doubt they will be further amazed with these Dehumidifiers in our hot wet and humid summer, which is just around the corner!
See you at our next round of Dehumidifier Demonstrations!
Warilla Grove Shopping Centre – (Wed 2nd to Sat 5th October)
At this time of year, many of us are returning from or planning our next caravan trip. As a caravan enthusiast myself, I thought it a good time to share some tips on how to protect your caravan or motorhome from the often overlooked threat of moisture.
Water leaks, condensation and general dampness can build up on the inside of your caravan especially during winter or summers humid months. It doesn’t take long before mattresses, furnishings, curtains etc get that horrible musty smell followed by unsightly and harmful mould. If moisture is left untreated it can lead to more serious issues resulting in rot and property loss. The most effective and efficient way to stop this is by using an NWT Dehumidifier from Ausclimate.
After returning home from a trip away or before you put your caravan in storage its good practice to dry everything out. It’s amazing how much moisture is absorbed from wet weather, cooking and general everyday use. You should run your Dehumidifier inside the van for around a day or so and then again every few weeks (this can vary depending on the weather and size of Dehumidifier). This will maintain the dryness required to stop any mould or musty smells from returning - protecting the inside of your caravan.
For good air circulation you should prop up your cushions and ensure all mattresses have adequate space for airflow. All internal doors, cupboards and draws should be left open and make sure you clean out the fridge freezer before leaving its door open. If you are unfortunate enough to experience a serious water leak, ensure you dry it out immediately with a Dehumidifier. Ausclimate’s Dehumidifiers are often used in the water damage industry; our models are capable of drying your caravan out to its original condition.
Water leaks, mould or musty smells can have a dramatic effect on the value and longevity of your caravan. Look after your valuable asset by keeping it dry. Recently Chris and I travelled through Riverina in NSW when I received a call from Ryan Dent (pictured) of Wagga Wagga. Ryan was concerned about moisture problems in the rooms on the south side of his home which had become musty, (including the bathroom). He wanted to know if an Ausclimate Dehumidifier could solve this problem.
On our return trip to Sydney we decided to pay Ryan a visit to inspect the area first hand. The musty smell in Ryan's house is actually very typical of many homes in the cooler regions like Wagga Wagga, especially towards the end of winter. With no natural sunlight or warm breezes to help keep the rooms dry, combined with his busy life style whereby his house was locked up most days - there no chance for any air circulation.
Ryan purchased the Medium Home Dehumidifier, the ideal model for his situation. Well, that was over a week ago and we recently received a very happy call from Ryan to say thanks. We were delighted to hear that the Dehumidifier was performing so well the musty smells had already disappeared.
Great to hear that we’ve been able to help out with your moisture problems Ryan! Take care and keep in touch. Hopefully Chris and I can pay beautiful Wagga Wagga another visit in the near future, possibly displaying our range of Ausclimate Dehumidifiers in one of their shopping centers.
