Ausclimate welcomes Nicole Bijlsma at the Melbourne Home Show

Nicole Photo

Ausclimate On-Location:

August 18th to 21st – Melbourne Home Show

We're super excited for a huge week at the gigantic Melbourne Home Show. We are delighted to announce that in conjunction with our appearance at the Home Show, Ausclimate will be featuring a discussion, "Allergens in the home" by accomplished Naturopath and CEO/founder of the Australian College of Environmental StudiesNicole Bijlsma. Nicole is an accomplished Naturopath and Acupuncturist, having lectured at various universities for 12 years. She is the bestselling author of Healthy Home Healthy Family, has published in peer reviewed journals and has written extensively for Body+Soul newspaper. She is regularly consulted by the media to discuss electromagnetic fields, toxic chemicals and sick building syndrome, lecturing in Australia and abroad to integrative GPs about environmental health issues.

We are extremely lucky to have Nicole presenting with us on what we all agree is an extremely important topic. Nicole noted to us that "More people die from breathing outdoor air in Australia, than they do from the road toll. [And, incredibly] Indoor air is 5-10 times more polluted than outdoor air." Nicole will be discussing everyday sources of pollutants in the house and simple methods that people can employ to reduce their exposure.

This talk, presented by Ausclimate will be taking place at 2PM on Sunday at the 'Build, Renovate, Decorate Seminar' Stage at the Melbourne Home Show.

Ausclimate will be at stall Q42 of the Melbourne Home Show from Thursday through Sunday with our complete product range on display; Air Purifiers, Dehumidifiers and our latest Commercial Dehumidifier range. They'll all be there, along with our own expert advice about the right products for the right situation.

So for a dryer, cleaner & healthier indoor climate, stop by, say hello and take advantage of our great Melbourne Homeshow Specials. And be sure not to miss out on Nicole Bijlsma's "Allergens in the home" discussion 2PM on Sunday.

See you there!

Protecting top-notch Guitars with an Ausclimate Dehumidifier

Kallquist Guitars

See us in-person:

June 14th to 26th – Erina Fair Shopping Centre

Of all of the uses for a Dehumidifier, guitars might not be the first on your list, but you may be surprised. We've had quite a bit of interest for our Dehumidifiers from the guitar community of late, looking to protect their pride & joy.

Luke Kallquist of Kallquist Guitars in Indooroopilly, QLD is a traditional Guitar Maker & "Luthier" & is very passionate about the craft. Luke uses his Ausclimate Dehumidifier in the manufacture & followup protection & upkeep of his top-quality guitars.

"Just wanted to say what a great asset to my workshop the Ausclimate NWT medium Dehumidifier is! I am a Luthier and need to keep the workshop at a steady 40-50% RH to be able to keep the timber at it's most stable and to give the finished instruments the best chance at survival once out in the real world and it's fluctuating RH. Thank you to Russell and the Team for all the expertise, I would highly recommend Ausclimate and it's Products to anyone. Thanks again, Happy Pickin"

Luke, Kallquist Guitars

We're at the tail end of our trip to the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show with one day to go! It's been a great time thus far, meeting folks who've come from as far as New Zealand & the USA. We've also been just so chuffed to meet over a dozen happy Ausclimate customers of years past who've all told us how well their Dehumidifiers are still going on their boats!

Often overlooked when it comes to boating aficionados however are Air Purifiers. If you're sick of moist & musty smells in your boat, a good-quality air-purifier can make a serious difference to cabin air quality. Make sure to stop by to find out more. We'll also have the rest of our extensive dehumidifier & air purifier range on show.

One day to go! If you haven't already, please stop by Ausclimate this afternoon or tomorrow & say hello. Busy, busy, busy!

Seem's like we're everywhere at the moment, but one that Joanne & I have been particularly excited for is the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. Today marks our first day in & we'll be here till Sunday.

We find that boating is one of those areas that people don't always think of right away when it comes to Dehumidifier use. But as many of our previous customers have noted in some great testimonials, a Dehumidifier can really make a world of difference in preventing mould, mildew, musty smells, wood-rot and water stains in boats. We're very proud to say that our Marine "Compact" Dehumidifer is the most powerful compact-dehumidifier on the Australian market.

It's been great to see so many boat-officionardos today & we look forward to meeting many more through the weekend. See you at Stand 41, Pavillion A at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. If you can't make it, make sure to check out our Compact Dehumidifier as well as our extensive range of Dehumidifiers & Air-Purifiers at ausclimate.com.au Cheers!

Boiling one day, buckets of rain the next!

Erina Crazy Summer

See us in-person:

15th to 28th of Feb – (Erina Fair Shopping Centre, Erina NSW)
15th to 21st of Feb – (Top Ryde City Shopping Centre, Sydney NSW)

Australia is certainly experiencing a crazy summer - boiling summer heat one day, buckets of rain the next! (As you can see here today outside on-location at the Erina Fair Shopping Centre) During this time with these hot & clammy conditions we can really feel the humidity in our homes.

So here’s a timely reminder to get yourself ready for some serious home drying. Stop the mould, stop the dust-mites and protect your clothing, footwear, furnishings and other valuables. There is no better time than now to start up your Ausclimate Dehumidifier to keep everything dry, just remember a few of these moisture issues and maintenance tips:

  • Humidity: above 55%-60% means ideal conditions for mould & dust-mites
  • Do some serious structural drying: set the humidistat at 30% for ‘deep-down drying’ - run the Dehumidifier long enough to get those humidity levels really low!
  • Then make sure to do a follow-up 1-2 weeks later of drying at 30% to remove the surface dampness that accumulates
  • Keep the room/s closed up during the dehumidifying process Open up your wardrobes and cupboards to ensure everything dries out
  • Let the mattresses dry out too – (dust-mites can’t breed in a dry mattress)
  • AND don’t forget to keep your air filter clean too – it’s easy, just vacuum or run under water.

Survive this crazy summer, feel better & get a better night’s sleep; dry out your entire home now. There has never been a better time!

P.S. (Don’t forget your boat, caravan and storage areas, particularly before the winter weather arrives!)

We'll be at Erina till next Sunday with our full range of Dehumidifiers & Air-Purifiers. Come by & say hello!

In Your Words

Just wanted to take a special moment to share this well-worded & comprehensive review of our Large 35 Litre/Day Dehumidifier by the lovely Michellina on her wonderful website at the-labrinth.com She has also shared some heartwarming words about how Ausclimate has helped with her chemical sensitivities & mould allergies on the AESSRA forum: http://www.aessra.org

"My dehumidifier has worked like a dream: my mould allergies cause me to wake up congested, dry eyed and with horrid headaches. After two days I've woken up clear and refreshed. I can't believe how good it works, just by keeping the humidity down..."

Thanks so much Michellina, it really makes what we do worthwhile when we hear about our Ausclimate products making such a difference to peoples lives.

This Large 35L model, as well as the rest of our Dehumidifier range is available for purchase right now at ausclimate.com.au

Cheers,
