Just wanted to take a special moment to share this well-worded & comprehensive review of our Large 35 Litre/Day Dehumidifier by the lovely Michellina on her wonderful website at the-labrinth.com She has also shared some heartwarming words about how Ausclimate has helped with her chemical sensitivities & mould allergies on the AESSRA forum: http://www.aessra.org
"My dehumidifier has worked like a dream: my mould allergies cause me to wake up congested, dry eyed and with horrid headaches. After two days I've woken up clear and refreshed. I can't believe how good it works, just by keeping the humidity down..."
Thanks so much Michellina, it really makes what we do worthwhile when we hear about our Ausclimate products making such a difference to peoples lives.

"This product has exceeded our expectations from the moment we plugged it in and turned it on! BEST air cleaner we have ever had! Worth every cent and then some. This machine knows before we do that something needs to be cleaned out of the air and goes automatically into overdrive until the smell is gone -- unbelievable!" - KickinNM of New Mexico
"We use it in our bedroom where dust has been a problem. Now there is no dust. Would highly recommend it. The sleep mode is great!" - Stutz of Philadelphia, PA
"This purifier does a fantastic job of cleaning the air. You can actually smell the the fresh air in the room and this is in a large 600 sq ft master bedroom. I have asthma and usually wake up during the night coughing, but not with this machine running. I do keep a very clean house, so this unit never goes into the high setting. I keep the unit on auto mode and let it decide what to do. Also, I find this unit very quiet and the muted amber lights on the front do not bother me one iota." - Sarge101abn of Folsom, California
A lovely couple from the coast of Western Australia & new Ausclimate friends have kindly sent us these photos of their pride & joy with our Ausclimate Dehumidifier in action.
They'd like to remind everyone out there that caring for your prized classic & collectable cars is just so important. Wow, just looking at these great photos show that there’s no doubt that their awesome 57 Thunderbird receives such love & care. Living near the beach is no excuse not to keep your baby dry and protected from damp and musty conditions.
“You just need to talk with the guys at Ausclimate’ to select the right Ausclimate Dehumidifier”.
Take care folks, great to see another fantastic use for our Dehumidifiers. The Thunderbird's a beauty!
The recent weather has been staggering – it’s just so wet! Following Cyclone Marcia, Cyclone Lam and all of the other recent heavy rains, we sincerely wish all of our Ausclimate friends that have been effected a speedy recovery.
Now that the immediate wild weather has passed, it’s high time for a “big-dry” to beat those musty smells and other potentially dangerous moisture-related issues. These musty smells are the first tell-tale signs that we may have excess dampness, mould growth, dust mites and other unhealthy allergens in our homes.
For this reason, we’ve put together this easy how-to list for this “big-dry” for all of our Ausclimate friends.
It should be no surprise - the way to control these unhealthy conditions is at the source – “the moisture”. Common areas of excess moisture include: kitchens, bathrooms, cupboards, walls, windows & ceilings and of course our bedrooms, where we spend about 8 hours/day - under the bed, behind the bedhead, inside wardrobes and behind our other furnishings.
Here’s a few tips:
Wipe down & dry the damp areas – the longer we leave our homes damp, the more likely we are to get moisture damage such as wood rot, as well as mould and those other airborne allergens.
Ventilation is the cheapest option – open up the windows and some doors, turn on the ceiling fans and exhaust fans on dry, warm and sunny days.
A Dehumidifier is one of the quickest and most efficient options – just close up the moisture-affected room and let it remove all that unwanted moisture from the whole room.
Your Ausclimate dehumidifier will pull all that unwanted moisture straight from the room and into the dehumidifier’s water tank, or we can use the optional drain hose to run the water straight outside.
Extra tips to get improved dehumidifier results:
Push the Ausclimate dehumidifier into the worst affected room
Close the external windows
Remove the bed linen from the bed - drape the linen over a chair to also dry out the bed linen
Pull out the drawers partially – might as well dry the clothes inside the drawers too
Open the wardrobe doors and separate footwear & clothing slightly for improved drying
Turn on a fan such as ceiling fan for improved air circulation
Turn on the Ausclimate dehumidifier and set the humidistat at the lowest level of 30% (electronic models) or continuous/maximum (manual models).
Close the door behind you on the way out.
All rooms take varying times to fully dry – depending on seriousness of the moisture issues, size of room and capacity of your dehumidifier. Imagine pulling out 50litres from a room in just 24hours!
As always, if you’d like any extra help & guidance – please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the experts at Ausclimate. We are here to answer any of your questions, particularly initial deep-down drying times and followup drying times - we want you to get the very best from your dehumidifier.
A callout to all of our Ausclimate boat enthusiasts, make sure to come out and visit us at Booth 53 of the QLD Sanctuary Cove Boat Show where we will be exhibiting our range of NWT Dehumidifiers!
Just like our homes, boats have more than their share of moisture problems. The number one choice for our boat owners is the NWT Compact 12 lire/day Dehumidifier. Don't let the small size fool you, this powerful yet compact unit sure packs a punch and is suited to boats, caravans, storage rooms and walk-in robes. It removes up to 12 litres of moisture per day and is suited to 20 square metre/50 cubic metre areas. The low centre of gravity and continuous hose drain option are ideal for running the water straight down the sink!
Our Ausclimate friend, Tony Smith uses his Ausclimate Dehumidifier to keep his pride & joy, the Free Spirit (pictured) dry & in ship-shape.
Cheers Tony! Happy boating & see you at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show.
This quality model has proven over and over again to be ideal in not just the marine industry but also perfect for caravans, storage rooms, walk-in robes, bedrooms - the list of uses just goes on and on.
The highlight of this unique Dehumidifier model is its compact size and powerful moisture removal capacity. Standing at only 44cm high, it weighs 8.6kgs and extracts up to a whopping 12 litres of water per day!
The sturdy base and low centre of gravity are great for boats and caravans, while its strong fold-down carry handle makes it easy to move and stow away in small places. Another great feature is its continuous drainage option. If you want to bypass the 2.5 litre water-holding tank, it’s as simple as unscrewing the drainage cap, removing the rubber bung and pushing on a 12 - 13mm drainage hose. This can be done in a matter of seconds!
One last added bonus; if there’s a power failure, this dehumidifier will automatically re-start again once power returns. The dehumidifier’s manual start also makes it perfect to use with timers.
Remember, all Ausclimate NWT Dehumidifiers are covered by a 2 year full replacement warranty for domestic use.
Get rid of mould and dust mites from your mattress with your Ausclimate Dehumidifier!
We spend around a third of our lives in bed, and if you examine that bed closely, you may be unpleasantly surprised at who your sleeping with! Dust mites and other various microscopic nasties are likely breeding in your mattress all year round and can cause skin allergies, general allergies irritations and various breathing issues.
But luckily, there is an easy solution; Your DEHUMIDIFIER!
My partner, Joanne (pictured) always tells people how amazed she was the first time she saw about how much moisture the Dehumidifier was able to extract from the families mattresses at home.
Follow these simple instructions to dry out your mattress, carpet and inside of your wardrobe, reducing the moisture levels, therefore eliminating their optimal breeding conditions for these “nasties”. Through regular use, you’ll sleep better knowing that dust mites won't be there to affect you or your loved ones anymore.
Some easy to follow tips to dry out your bedroom:
Place the Ausclimate Dehumidifier in a central location within the room
Remove the bed linen to fully expose the mattress
Drape the pillows over a clothes airer (optional)
Pull the mattress away from the wall, about 20cms
Prop up the mattress on its side (optional)
Close the windows
Turn on the ceiling fan or other fan/s for additional air circulation (optional)
Set your Ausclimate Dehumidifier’s humidistat control to 30% for electronic models or ‘continuous’ for the smaller 12L/Day models
Close the door behind you and let your Dehumidifier do its magic!
(Repeat this process every couple of months or during times of high rainfall/humidity)

We’ve had a great time this past week visiting Maroochydore and other areas of the Sunshine Coast. We were particularly delighted to meet Lesley Richards (pictured) and her cute little friend here at Pure Paws in Buderim. Lesley runs Pure Paws which is much more than a just a dog grooming business - "it's a first class natural canine boutique bakery, spa and training centre."
As seen in the picture, this curious pooch was particularly fascinated by the new Dehumidifier. Lesley uses her AusclimateDehumidifiers in the shop to dry out the doggy towels, keep mould at bay and assist in keeping away that “wet-dog-smell” that we all know and love!
So next time your giving your pooch a wash, get the Dehumidifier on the job to dry out your towels and prevent any of those musty “wet-dog” smells before they set in. And make sure to check out Pure Paws if your in the area, we’re sure your pooch will thank you for it! (We hear they've even got some lovely doggy birthday cakes for their special day)
This is Noel of Brisbane QLD. We recently had the privilege of catching up with Noel to find out all about his rather interesting use of his Ausclimate Dehumidifier. Noel's lifelong passion for Entomology (the study of insects) has resulted in an amazing insect collection that he is very proud of. He keeps this collection in great condition by controlling the room's humidity levels with regular use of his Dehumidifier.
We'll have more about Noel's fascinating story in the coming weeks. Thanks Noel!

It feels like summer already and our air conditioners will be working overtime in the coming months. Did you know that in rooms with high humidity, you can use your Dehumidifier in conjunction with your air-con to improve the comfort level of your rooms more effectively?
Air conditioners have to work a lot harder when they are trying to reduce room temperature as well as lowering humidity. By reducing your humidity level with your Ausclimate Dehumidifier, the air conditioner's thermostat can be set higher, therefore running less while still maintaining an ideal comfort level & perhaps most importantly, reducing air-con running costs!
Next time on a hot, steamy day get more out of your air conditioner AND reduce your running costs by trying out this handy tip from Ausclimate.
